November is National Diabetes Month and EYE-Q Vision Care wants to remind you to be aware of your risk factors. Nearly 30 million Americans have diabetes and another 86 million are prediabetic and at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Individuals with diabetes are at a significantly higher risk for developing eye and vision disorders. In addition, diabetes is the leading cause of new cases of blindness among adults. California and the Central Valley have some of the fastest growing diabetes rates in the U.S. EYE-Q urges people to schedule yearly, comprehensive eye exams in order to detect and prevent vision disorders related to diabetes.
