At EYE-Q we love our pets as much as we love supporting our community. This week is National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week – a time to honor
animal shelters and the dedicated people who work to protect animals. We hope that you’ll join EYE-Q in supporting this noble cause. If you’re thinking about bringing a pet into your home, please consider adopting one of the Valley’s thousands of homeless dogs and cats that are in need of a permanent home.
In celebration, we’ll be featuring some of the cuddly critters up for adoption at the Valley Animal Center. Check out the EYE-Q Facebook page every day this week for our featured pet of the day. Whether you’re looking for a playful puppy, a rambunctious kitten, or a more mature pooch, the Valley Animal Center will match you with your perfect pet.
If you’re not looking to adopt, you can still help. Caring for these homeless critters takes a lot of manpower and money. The Valley Animal Center is always in need of donations and volunteers to help with the care of their pet guests. With anywhere from 400 to 700 pets housed at the facility, volunteers are needed to help with feeding, grooming, training and socialization to make sure their pet guests are healthy, happy and well-cared for until they find their forever home. Not only does volunteering make operation of the shelter possible, but it’s also incredibly rewarding for you.
The Valley Animal Center is a community-supported organization that is solely funded through donations from the community, grants, program services and fundraising efforts – no government funds are received. Nationally each year, approximately 6-8 million homeless animals seek refuge each year but only half are adopted. While 63 percent of American households have pets, less than 20 percent of these pets came from shelters. EYE-Q encourages you to save a life and support National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week by adopting one of these lovable critters.
EYE-Q has been a long-time supporter of the Valley Animal Shelter. This no kill center is dedicated to controlling the pet population through education and spaying/neutering, not euthanasia. The staff at EYE-Q is proud to support the Valley Animal Center by donating time and resources. We support their belief that animals are living creatures that should be respected and protected. The Valley Animal Center’s mission is to assist with and provide for the health and welfare of animals that have been abused, mistreated, abandoned and injured; to promote the bond between animals and people; and to instill an appreciation and respect for all living creatures with whom we share this earth.
Valley Animal Center is located at 3934 N. Hayston Ave, Fresno, CA 93726.
