Digital Eye Fatigue: A Side Effect of Distance Learning

Posted on

Now that students are in front of their screens for hours per day due to distance learning, many kids are experiencing digital eye fatigue, which is a strain of the eye muscles that can be caused by staring at screens for too long.

EYE-Q’s Dr. Michael Mendoza was recently interviewed on ABC30 to discuss these new challenges and how to overcome them. Make sure your kids are following the 20-20-20 rule, where they take a break every 20 minutes and look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. They can also wear blue-light-blocking glasses. As always, make sure you bring your children in for annual check-ups at EYE-Q to ensure whole eye health!
