At EYE-Q Vision Care, we honor veterans every day of the year.
Our dedication to supporting veterans through vision screenings and community involvement is something in which we take a great deal of pride. Several of our doctors are veterans themselves, including Dr. Richard Moors, who served three years as a flight surgeon in the United States Navy and Dr. Thomas Shute, who served as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force for four years.
Dr. Frank Bishop is also a veteran with decades of service. Dr. Bishop completed the Navy’s rigorous Undersea Medical Officer training before serving as the Diving Medical Officer for SEAL Delivery Team ONE in Hawaii. He was appointed Specialty Advisor for Ophthalmology by the Surgeon General, United States Navy and a few years later was selected as the Director of Surgical Services at NMCSD. He has a lengthy list of personal awards from his over 25 years of service and he’s performed over 20,000 LASIK surgeries. Having a team of veterans in our offices makes serving veterans even more important to us.
In each of our offices, a large, locally commissioned flag hangs in the lobby. In our Fresno office, greeter Robert Sosa, a veteran himself, plays an important role in identifying veterans and asking them to sign the flag’s plexiglass cover. Dozens of veterans have left their mark on our flag, and all of our veteran patients are encouraged to leave their autographs.
