Our EYE-Q Pediatric office has always been a welcoming place for kids, and now, kids from our community can really make it their own. If you’ve recently stopped by the pediatric department in the Clovis EYE-Q office, you may have noticed some artwork in the lobby. In a new partnership between EYE-Q and Clovis Unified School District, we chose to feature artwork created by children from kindergarten through twelfth grade all over Clovis, showcasing the best of the best in all age groups.
It all began when Dr. Derick Holt, our pediatric ophthalmologist, noticed a blank wall in the pediatric lobby. That’s when he decided it was time to spice it up. We immediately reached out to the school district about collecting student artwork, and Clovis Unified was thrilled about the proposition. The featured artwork rotates on a regular basis, which allows for a variety of students’ artwork to be highlighted.
“EYE-Q is the first local business to be doing something like this,” said Betsy Pavich, a Visual Art Resource Teacher in Clovis Unified. “One of our goals is to get this incredible artwork out into the community, because what these students are doing is truly amazing. You’d never guess kids created some of it.”
To celebrate the first installation of pieces, EYE-Q hosted a reception for the students whose artwork was featured. Dr. Holt, along with other EYE-Q staff, expressed excitement about the new lobby art.
We are proud to spearhead a project that allows us to create deeper ties within our community and partnerships that benefit the children of the Central Valley.
