Accomplishments

EYE-Q is proud of their initiative to help veterans in the Central Valley—and a huge part of that mission is driven by the veterans who work at our offices. Dr. Bishop came to EYE-Q after an illustrious military career—he even completed the Navy’s rigorous Undersea Medical Officer training before serving as the Diving Medical Officer for SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team ONE in Hawaii. After entering his ophthalmology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), he was the first Navy ophthalmology resident in 20 years to participate in a humanitarian mission, performing cataract surgeries in Indonesia, followed by additional missions throughout the Pacific in 2006 aboard the Navy’s hospital ship, USNS Mercy, and to Burkina Faso, West Africa in 2008.

Dr. Bishop has held numerous titles and positions that have made him one of the most respected ophthalmologists in his field, and EYE-Q is proud to have such a strong leader and surgeon on our team.
