Latest COVID-19 Message from EYE-Q Vision Care
Posted onDear EYE-Q patients,
We are open for all vision care, surgical, optical and MedSpa services. As a patient we can assure you we’ve implemented a variety of processes and protocols to provide you with the safest environment possible.
Some patients have been delaying care for decreased vision, or other eye issues. Do NOT postpone care or it may lead to complications that could require surgical intervention or lead to loss of vision.
We have established special procedures for cleaning and disinfecting exam rooms, diagnostic equipment, shared areas and devices. Our physicians and staff wear masks while at work and other personal protective equipment when indicated. All patients are also required to wear a mask throughout their visit to EYE-Q. You can also choose to wait in your car and receive a text message when we are ready for you to be seen!
All 3 EYE-Q offices, optical services, the MedSpa at EYE-Q and our surgery center are open following all precautions to ensure your care is safe and that you are protected. Please trust that we are doing our best to keep you, your family, and our community safe and healthy. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Sincerely,
F. Campbell Waldrop, MD
President, EYE-Q Board of Directors
Here at EYE-Q we are happy to once again provide all your vision care, optical and MedSpa needs. We have made all required changes to our processes to meet, and in many cases exceed, local, State and Federal COVID-19 guidelines. Please bring your own mask to your visit and be prepared to go through a screening process that includes having your temperature taken – this is the same process that our masked employees, guests and vendors go through daily to ensure the safest environment for your care.
You will notice new expanded waiting rooms in our facilities to support social distancing protocol, and if possible we’d prefer you attend your appointments alone to decrease the number of people in the building. The optical department is available by appointment only. Our eye exam chairs have a clear protective barrier installed between you and our masked doctors to provide an extra layer of safety. Additionally, we’ve hired staff whose only responsibility is to clean surfaces throughout our facilities all day, every day. Curbside pick-up is available for glasses and contacts in Fresno, and your favorite MedSpa products can also be delivered to you curbside. Contact lenses can be shipped directly to your home. We’ve elevated our service to better serve you.
We also have a new automated check in process that allows you to check in for your appointment from your mobile phone before you even enter the building! For the ultimate convenience we offer Telehealth virtual visits with our doctors using your camera enabled smart phone, tablet or computer. These appointments are covered by most insurances and appropriate for patients with red, swollen, or itchy eyes, eye drainage, or to discuss medication management with your doctor. Give us a call at (559) 486-2000 to schedule a Telehealth appointment, or request one by clicking on the Services tab along the top of our website, and then selecting Telehealth.
We look forward to caring for you soon and welcoming you to the ‘new’ EYE-Q!
Thank you,
F. Campbell Waldrop, MD

**UPDATE** Monday, April 27, 2020 | 10:25am PST
Dear valued patients,
This week EYE-Q is beginning to resume normal operations. We are not sure what the future holds, but rest assured that we have your safety as our number one focus.
The state of California has recognized that eyesight is essential. Surgery that has been postponed needs to be done, glasses need to be dispensed.
We understand and support doing things in a different way. You will notice many changes at our facilities, from check in to check out. Please understand that we are developing new processes and protocols, and we ask for your patience. On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire EYE-Q team, it is an honor and a privilege to provide your eye care. Thank you. We look forward to seeing you!
Thank you,

Dear valued patients,
Help EYE-Q get 2020 back on track!
May 4, 2020 is the day we are open.
We have been open, but we are now looking to restart many of our normal operations that we had to put on hold these past 6 weeks.
Our optometrists will be doing eye exams, dispensing glasses. Our eye surgeons will be getting ready to operate. It will be the same great care that you deserve, but we have added new layers of protection for your safety. All patients and employees will be screened at the front door, temperature checks, screening questions asked. When you enter the facilities you will notice much larger waiting areas so that we can maintain social distancing. We are instituting new policies to help patient flow, minimize wait times, and keep people safe. All employees will be masked. We encourage our patients to bring and use their own masks. Hand hygiene, while always important to us, will be even more emphasized and available throughout our facilities. We have hired people whose job is to constantly clean door handles and surface tops at EYE-Q. Clean, clean, clean. We’ve got our doctors back, we’ve got our clean on, all we need is you!
Call today for your appointment (559) 486-2000.
Thank you,
F. Campbell Waldrop, MD

Dear valued patients,
We will continue to operate all 3 locations for scheduled appointments, surgeries, or urgent eye care visits, and reevaluate our processes on a daily basis to ensure we follow all CDC guidelines. We appreciate your understanding during this unprecedented time.
Yesterday, we began screening all employees, patients, providers and visitors at our entrances by asking them if they had traveled recently, had a cough, or if they had a fever (each person’s temperature was checked). Patients who answer yes to either question or have a fever are asked to reschedule their appointments. If a patient feels they cannot reschedule, an MD will screen the patient in the patient’s vehicle. Employees who answered yes to questions, or had a fever, were sent home. This process will remain in effect until further notice.
Please check our website regularly for updates.

Dear valued patients,
Now, as always, your health, safety and well-being remain our top priority at EYE-Q. We anticipate you may have questions about our efforts to manage Coronavirus (COVID-19) in our facilities. We want you to feel confident that our actions are focused on your health, and comfort. We extend this concern to our employees and their families. We have taken extra precautions as suggested by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the CA Department of Public Health (CDPH) as outlined below.
During Check In/Check Out
As you enter our facilities we have placed hand sanitizers for your use, and masks are available upon request for those patients who are ill (coughing, fever, etc.).
Throughout your visit
Commonly used areas of our facility such as exam rooms, desktops, doorknobs, handles, phones, waiting rooms, lobby furniture, toilets, faucets and sinks are being sanitized throughout the day in addition to our routine nightly cleaning. Exam rooms are sanitized after each patient exits the room. Staff and doctors also wash their hands before and after your exam.
No Handshake Zone
In the past, our doctors or staff members may have greeted you with a traditional handshake. At this time, it is recommended that handshaking be avoided as it is an easy way to transmit germs.
EYE-Q Employees
Our HR department and management staff encourage our employees who are not feeling well or need to care for ill family members to remain at home until symptoms are no longer present. Our on-site employees are led by our management team who are following all CDC guidelines for cleanliness during your visit with us.
What can you do to help?
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Stay home if you are sick, except to get medical care.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow to contain your cough. Discard used tissues. Immediately wash your hands.
We take great pride in providing your vision care, and appreciate your trust in us to maintain a healthy environment for you and our employees. If you have any questions regarding this information, please feel free to speak with a member of our management team.
Sincerely,
F. Campbell Waldrop, MD
