Over time, vison becomes increasingly blurry or dim because the cataract stops light from properly passing through the retina
Risk factors include:
- Older age
- Hereditary influences
- Smoking
- Certain diseases, such as diabetes
- Long-term exposure to UV rays from the sun
- Eye diseases
- And more
Most cataract cases are in older adults, but children can also develop pediatric cataracts. If cataracts go untreated in young children, it can cause poor development between the brain and eye, leading to vison impairment.
