Dr. Andrea Huerta is an optometrist at Eye-Q who provides primary eye care, diabetic examinations, and contact lens fittings. She also manages various ocular diseases, including Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Age-Related Macular Degeneration.
Dr. Huerta completed a residency in ocular disease at the San Francisco Veterans Administration Medical Center. While there, she was able to administer primary and emergency eye care services to local Bay Area veterans. Throughout her residency program, Dr. Huerta provided diabetic eye exams, glaucoma management, and urgent/ surgical post-operative care. She graduated from University of California Berkeley School of Optometry with honors and as a distinguished member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Society.
She is fluent in English and Spanish. Currently, she is a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, and the American Academy of Optometry.
Prior to becoming an optometrist, Dr. Huerta obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley. She received the highest distinction and graduated with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. When she is not in the clinic, Dr. Huerta enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys rooting for her favorite teams at different sporting events, exploring new restaurants, and going to concerts.
